ID Validation: Software installation
Run the ID Validation installer downloaded from our download page and follow the steps of the installer. It will install all necessary dependencies (none are available at this time) and create the appropriate shortcuts in the start menu.
Please always download the latest version to benefit from improvements and to prevent already fixed bugs from occurring.
Step by Step
After starting the installation program, please specify the destination folder where you want to install ID Validation with all modules. Within this directory all files are stored, which are necessary for the execution of the ID Validation and the modules.
Then, if desired, please specify another directory where you want to store the configuration files. The suggested directory corresponds to the current user directory and the corresponding subdirectories. These are automatically created when the program is started for the first time, if they do not exist.
In most cases, you can leave the shortcuts within the start menu. If you use ID Validation to manually query VAT registration numbers, we recommend a shortcut in the task bar.
A desktop shortcut for ID Validation is mostly useful if you will also use the application for manual checks. This is also possible without licensing.
In this step, please check all your settings again and make a note of the configuration directory if you need it elsewhere (e.g. for the application firewall).
Are all settings correct? If not, you have the possibility to go back and make changes.
The installation is now complete. The ID Validation has been successfully installed and you can start it directly from the installation program.
After the installation, start the ID Validation via the created shortcuts or, if selected, directly from the installation routine. Now you have to configure ID Validation with your modules, if you have performed a new installation. For more information about the basic settings, see the Configuration documentation.
Since version 1.3.0 you can already define the configdir directory (the directory where the configurations are stored) by the installation program. Please make sure that the directory is writable. This gives you the option to perform the installation on a terminal server or to store the configuration centrally to allow all users to use the identical settings.
With the command line parameter
/configdir="directory" you can pass a different configuration directory to the installation program in the so-called silent mode.
