Validate VAT

The verification of the VAT identification number (USt-IdNr) is the responsibility of the respective company. If these numbers are not properly checked, claims by the tax office may arise, up to and including criminal proceedings for attempted tax evasion!

Performing a single query of a VAT registration number

Since you may install ID Validation on any workstation in your company to check a VAT number, the individual query is also available to every employee.

You can thus save yourself the call to the corresponding web page, since our module uses exactly the identical interface. And this coincides with the legal requirement to log the queries, if you have enabled this feature.

Check VAT registration number with batch processing

With the help of batch processing, you can set up a CSV, JSON or XLSX export from your ERP system and then have all the master data contained checked directly with the VAT registration number check.

Select the file to be imported or drag and drop it onto the ID Validation and you can check the entire file. As with the individual query, the interfaces of the BZSt or VIES are used (depending on the configuration). After a relatively short time, you will have checked each VAT ID number and also logged this in accordance with the legal requirements.

cli/Service setup

You can automate the batch processing. Familiarize yourself with the use of our VAT Validation as a cli/service. With this feature you even get the possibility to receive the status of the check by e-mail. Thus, nothing stands in the way of a complete automation of the VAT registration number check!

We have described in detail how to set up the module and how to check your Check VAT registration number in our documentation. If you have further questions, you can also have a look at our frequently asked questions (FAQ). If you still have questions, contact us.

We assume no liability for any data loss that may occur due to the use of the VAT Validation module.

The VAT Validation also has no influence on the determined result values. The program returns the results of the VAT registration number check only in a defined format (CSV, JSON or XLSX). All other fields that are not necessary for the check are not output in the file with the check results.

If changes have been made to the interface of the Bundeszentralamt für Steuern (BZSt), an update of the software will be created and made available once it has been noted. This is usually done within 24h after becoming aware of it.

We update our USt-IdNr-Dokumentation of the VAT Validation at regular intervals. This way we can ensure that all important information is available for the user. In the event of changes in the application that do not require special instructions for operation, we do not compulsorily update this documentation. Nevertheless, we make every effort to carry out the documentation at the latest when a new minor version 1.2.x ⇾ 1.3.x is released.
