For some of our internal administration, but also for custom software development, we now have a large number of database instances running on AWS RDS. In order to start a database as quickly as possible or to let us know the status of a database cluster, we have also written a tool for managing RDS instances, similar to our EC2 Starter.
With the AWS RDS Starter, unlike the AWS Fargate Starter, we have dispensed with all local prerequisites and also provide the backend.
At github you can download the backend repository and modify it according to your requirements.
We cannot be held liable for any damage to your RDS instances or underlying business processes.
Save the downloaded ewapps_aws_rds.exe in a target folder of your choice and start the program. Enter the URL of the backend and the security string of your choice. You will then be shown all available instances.
Next to each listed RDS instance you can see the InstanceID as well as the current status. Stopped instances can be started and started instances can be stopped. If an instance has a different status, no action can be performed. This is indicated by the orange color and the button label ‘n/a’.
As soon as we have released a new version of AWS RDS Starter, we will list the changes that have been made to it in more detail here.
We are also very happy to receive your suggestions regarding the AWS RDS Starter tool. We are looking forward to any feedback. Please use our contact form to do so.
This software AWS RDS Starter is freeware and can be redistributed without our consent! We assume no liability for the software!
